Miscarriage: Sign, Cause, Treatment of Miscarriage, Pregnancy After Miscarriage, How to Avoid a MiscarriageMiscarriage is the term accorded to the spontaneous abortion of a fetus by a pregnant woman. The majority of miscarriages will occur sometime before the 13-20th week of the pregnancy. A good number of such miscarriages will actually have no fetus. This type of pregnancy is known as ‘blighted ovum’ where actually there will be a sac, but no fetus. This type of miscarriages is as high as 30 per cent of all miscarriages. Bleeding is a common warning for miscarriage. Hence, if a woman fund that she is bleeding at any time after she is confirmed to be pregnant, she needs immediate medical attention to prevent a possible miscarriage. This situation is usually known as ‘threatened abortion’ and unless urgent medical intervention is given, the chances to loose the baby are great. Some major causes for miscarriageThere are many causes for miscarriage, which involve the build of the woman, her health, her diet, her life style and so on. If the woman is too weak or anemic, the chances for miscarriage increase. If she is under fed or suffers from malnutrition again there will be chances for miscarriage. In many cases miscarriages will occur when the woman does hard physical labor. The miscarriages that occur in the first trimester often happen due to the existence of abnormal chromosomes. These types of miscarriages, though traumatic for the would-be- mother, are considered more or less common and normal. Only if the miscarriage repeats itself more than twice, it would be considered as something seriously wrong. In contract any miscarriage in the second trimester should be considered as a serious problem and will need to be checked thoroughly for causes and prevention of a further occurrence. Diseases and miscarriageSome diseases and ailments will be default cause miscarriages, and hence adequate precautions need to be taken when then woman is pregnant. For example women who suffer from diabetes will be more prone to spontaneous abortion or miscarriage. There is some collagen vascular diseases which prompts the body’s own immune system attack the organs inside the body. During this time the fetus will be se as a new organ and attacked, which in turn will result in miscarriage. This is a serious conditions which need constant and careful medical intervention if the pregnancy is to be maintained. Lack of adequate essential hormones such as progesterone can also result in miscarriages. If the levels of progesterone fall below the required levels, then the lining of the uterus will fail to support the sac, which ruptures itself from where it got attached and it, is expelled out from the body. It is not yet fully understood by modern science why this occurs for which a fail-proof treatment is yet not available. Other causes for miscarriagesSudden and serious infections will provoke miscarriages. Hence, if there are any infections in the body, especially in the vaginal region, the doctor needs to be informed and consulted immediately. A correct course of antibiotics can prevent miscarriages that are caused or could be caused by infections. Abnormality in the shape of the uterus is another very common cause for miscarriages. Sometimes the uterus is misshapen, too small and incapable to expand, turned, filled with fibroids and so on. Any abnormality in the uterus can provoke a miscarriage. This is why the reason for a miscarriage is very important if you want to prevent the next pregnancy for resulting into abortion. Sometimes the uterus is internally divided into chambers called septums. The egg usually gets implanted on the wall of the uterus, but when this egg tries to get attached to the septum, sooner than later is breaks off because the septum does not have sufficient strength to support the growing egg.
